ACPDE — Albanian Center for Peace and Disarmament Education

The Albanian Center for Peace and Disarmament Education (ACPDE) was initially created to coordinate the Hague Appeal for Peace / UN peace and disarmament project in Albania. Its mission is to encourage peace education through the promotion of civic values, human dignity, tolerance, solidarity, gender parity, social justice, peace and human rights. We aim toward creating appropriate forums and processes to promote peace and disarmament education in Albania.

In order to fulfil its mission, ACPDE strives to achieve the following objectives:

  • Encouraging and promoting local initiatives in the schools and communities toward an education of peace, tolerance, human rights and social justice in Albania.
  • Creation of a network of young people who are educated with these values.
  • Providing training in the field of: Peace Education, Human Rights Education, Conflict Resolution.
  • Encouraging voluntarism and strong local communities.
  • Collaboration with similar organizations both in Albania and internationally.
