5th of June: International Day of Environment

One of the strands that we are working in our peace education programming has been “a healthy environment for all”.  Two activities on environment were organized in Shkodra where trash and dust are all over the place. Both activities came out of the initiative of our local partners in Shkodra. The first one was organized by teachers and pupils of the Jordan Misja school. They went to clean the Velopoja beach north of Shkodra and invite community their to join in keeping the beach clean.

The second activity will be organized in June 5^th amongst the three major secondary schools in Shkodra. An awareness campaign has already been organized all over town through posters. At the end of May, an art exhibition on environment was opened in Shkodra. On May 5^th a festive evening at the center of the town will wrap up the environment activities.
