Debate club in secondary school
The debate club in Gramsh has doubled after some trainings conducting from their own peers, and we are working to help it grow through our trainings as well. We should definitely thank Ina Idrizi and Arber Zaimi, two Gramsh debaters that have helped us keep in touch with the school.
Our project sponsored a debate on “culture, community and power” organized by some of our trained teachers from the 5th of June: International Day of Environment
One of the strands that we are working in our peace education programming has been “a healthy environment for all”. Two activities on environment were organized in Shkodra where trash and dust are all over the place. Both activities came out of the initiative of our local partners in Shkodra. The first one was organized by teachers and pupils of the Jordan Misja school. They went to clean th Shkodra Folk Festival
A folk festival has been organized in Shkodra on the 2nd of June, that celebrated musical diversity in Northen Albania while emphasizing the tradition of tolerance in Shkodra, Dukagjin and Malesia e Madhe. Five major schools participated in this event that was covered widely by local media. Sports Activities
Sports activities “Sport strengthens health, educates for tolerance” have been organized by the Children’s Center in Gramsh as part of community involvement in our project. The activities involved in this project are: football championship with children aged 10-12 and 13 to 15 years old; volleyball championship with children aged 13-15 years old; and basketball championship with children aged 10-1 What I Wish To Change to in My Life Activities
As part of our community-based peace education programming, the Children’s Center in Gramsh organized a district-wide event for children during February and March that had the following activities:
A contest with folk songs, dance, instruments in 7 regions of the Gramsh district—including the town and all the major villages—and the selection of the best performances for the final spectacle.
O "Tradition of tolerance" exposition in Gramsh
As part of our support for the peace values in the Gramsh and Shkodra districts we are promoting traditional behaviors and patterns that will be the seed for the development of a tolerant peace-loving community. In Gramsh we have the strong partnership of the Cultural Center. As part of the Valentine day celebration, in Gramsh, teachers and pupils from the Gramsh high school organized a show that celebrated the power of love and understanding even in hard times. The spectacle included songs, poetry, on the theme of love. Our project funded the event. Celebrations on Mother Teresa's beatification day
The main activities of the October happened around the beatification of Mother Theresa by the pope on the 19th of October. As Mother Theresa was Albanian, there were activities all over the country about "Enough to this reality" art show
High school youth leaders in Gramsh staged the show "Enough to This Reality" in the beginning of April. This is a show totally organized by 30 youth leaders from the high school in Gramsh. They wanted to organize such a show for the whole community, and we were happy to support them in this initiative.
