As part of our work with the "Jordan Misja" school in Shkodra, the need for computer skills training became evident in many of our activities, be they school newspaper, or working in a personal computer to write something. Hence we have created a partnership with International Community Assist-Albania (ICA-AL), an NGO whose mission is to help the poor and assist them with diverse skills. ICA-AL is providing the center and all the facilities for organizing the training, and we are covering the cost of the training. As part of the partnership, ICA-AL is bringing English teachers from Great Britain to Shkodra to help the school teachers and pupils learn English. The ICA-AL coordinator is also working on getting a school in Great Britain to twin with the "Jordan Misja" school. Such efforts are done in order to ensure sustainability of our work, even after our project ends in ten months. The current training in computer skills teaches literacy in Windows, Word and Excel to 30 teachers and youth leaders in a four month intense training. They have been particularly happy in this training that will get them European-recognized diplomas. |
