Summer school in Conflict Resolution
In the beginning of September in Gramsh, the project conducted a 6-day summer school in Conflict Resolution and Transformation in cooperation with trainers from the Foundation for Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation and the Institute for Pedagogical Studies.
The target group were 22 teachers from the secondary schools in Gramsh and Shkodra. As the previou CPDE-Organized Debates
We created the Gramsh debate team in April though the expertise of the Albanian National Debate Association. After more training we introduced a debate topic "Do Weapons increase Security?" to both Gramsh and Shkodra schools. The pupils discussed in front of their teachers about personal and global issues relating to weapons and security. They had to read UNDP materials on Albanian disarmament, an Main CPDE Activities

On June 9th, 2004, Top Channel TV, the most respected TV station in Albania hosted a national debate on small arms in its popular “Top Show” program. Present in the show were various personalities, including UN, civil society and police personnel. The show dealt with issues of arms control and education for disarmament. Some of the main activities and successes we have had in Tirana encourage us to continue our work and make more efforts to spread peace education aid all over Albania. Here are our main successes related to Tirana:
Publishing the national peace education manual has been a big collective endeavor, and shows the dedication of all the relevant partners—teachers, educators, NGOs—in our project.

The third term finds the Albanian project consolidating its achievements and strategic local partnerships. We have now published a national teachers’ manual for peace and disarmament education and it has been listed by the Institute for Pedagogical Studies as a nation-wide resource for teachers.
